Roger Tangry

Roger Tangry is a versatile commercial litigator with over 10 years of experience representing individual and corporate clients in a broad range of complex and contentious matters. His practice encompasses commercial disputes involving contracts, construction, builders’ liens, debtor-creditor matters, property, strata, and other business-related claims. Roger has represented clients across a wide range of industries and has acted as counsel before all levels of court in British Columbia. He also brings extensive advocacy experience, having represented clients at more than 200 mediations, where he works to identify practical and commercially viable paths toward resolution.

Prior to joining Macpherson Law LLP, Roger practiced at a litigation boutique, where he developed significant experience handling complex disputes involving property, construction defects, strata matters, product liability, subrogation, coverage, and other commercial claims. This experience has given Roger a broad perspective on managing disputes involving multiple stakeholders, competing interests, and significant financial and business risks. Roger also brings a wealth of business experience to his legal practice from his pre-law career in transportation and logistics.

When acting for clients, Roger sees his role as a practical legal strategist and risk manager. He draws on his technical knowledge of commercial litigation to help clients navigate complex disputes and manage their exposure to risk, an approach he describes as “unravelling the ball of string, one strand at a time.”

Outside his legal practice, Roger is committed to improving access to justice through his pro bono work and is an avid supporter of Amici Curiae Friends of Court. He enjoys tennis, cycling, and spending time with his family.
