Laura Bowman

Laura was first called to the bar in Ontario 2007. She is called to the bar in five provinces. She has a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto and a Masters in Law from Osgoode Hall Law School. Her academic studies included significant studies in Indigenous history. She has lived and practiced in three provinces and in Nunavut.

Laura develops and project-manages complex litigation strategies for her clients and is experienced at all levels of court. In addition to her practice in Aboriginal rights and title and specific claims, Laura is a certified specialist in environmental law (Ontario) and regulatory issues with expertise in fisheries, species at risk, agriculture and toxic substances. Laura also has considerable appellate and public law experience, having conducted numerous judicial reviews, appeals, and interventions. Laura has a Master’s in law in administrative law, and has authored numerous publications on a variety of Aboriginal law, administrative law and natural resources/energy law topics.

Laura loves nature, and in her spare time she enjoys hiking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, cycling, and other outdoor activities. She has two young girls and a cat and lives in the GTA.
